NDLEA Intercepts Over 300,000 Pills of Exol-5 in Massive Drug Raids Across Nigeria

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has reported significant seizures, intercepting over 300,000 pills of Exol-5 and hundreds of kilograms of skunk in various operations across multiple states, including Ogun, Kaduna, and Lagos.
Major Opioid and Drug Busts
According to a statement released on Sunday by the NDLEA’s Director of Media and Advocacy, Mr. Femi Babafemi, the interdictions involved several arrests of traffickers attempting to smuggle illicit drugs across state lines and out of the country.
Exol-5 Seizures:
In Niger State, operatives arrested a 29-year-old suspect at New Bussa with 150,000 pills of Exol-5, 800 ampoules of pentazocine injection, and 22,000 capsules of tramadol.
In Kaduna State, another suspect, identified as Farin Malam (27), was apprehended at the Abuja/Kaduna toll gate while conveying 150,000 pills of Exol-5 from Lagos to Katsina.
International Trafficking: At the Murtala Mohammed International Airport (MMIA) in Lagos, officers intercepted 27,510 pills of Rohypnol concealed in sachets of alcoholic drinks destined for South Africa. A follow-up operation led to the arrest of the 46-year-old mastermind at Oyingbo market.
European-Bound Opioids: An Italy-based businessman was arrested on the same day while trying to export 3,700 pills of tramadol 225mg and 2,600 tablets of tapentadol 200mg to Italy, hidden in food items. He claimed he was trafficking the opioids for a fee of 945 euros.
Cannabis (Skunk) Seizures and Arrests
The NDLEA also executed raids recovering large quantities of skunk (a strain of cannabis) and arresting several suspects across the country:
Osun State: Operatives seized 635 kilograms of skunk from a Toyota Hiace bus, leading to the arrest of two suspected drug dealers in Omifufun village, Ife South LGA.
Ondo State: A total of 312 kg of skunk was recovered from a bush at Ologede camp, Ogbese.
Edo State: A raid in Ugbekpe Ekperi, Etsako Central LGA, resulted in the recovery of 47kg of skunk.
Katsina State: A 46-year-old suspect was nabbed after 29.5kg of skunk was found in his house in Jibia town.
