New Chelsea winger Alejandro Garnacho has explained his decision to join the Premier League club, citing manager Enzo Maresca’s tactical approach as a major factor.
The 21-year-old Argentine international emphasized the importance of the team’s “style of play” and the chance for personal growth at Stamford Bridge.
Speaking on his move, Garnacho said, “When I spoke with the club and Maresca, it’s important also the style of play we have. He explained a lot to me in a video call with him,” as reported by Fabrizio Romano on Tuesday.
He added, “It’s a big chance to improve as a player in a team like Chelsea.”
Garnacho, a World Cup winner with Argentina, joined Chelsea in a deal reportedly worth £40 million ($54 million) on a seven-year contract. His signing is part of the club’s ongoing efforts to build a squad capable of competing on all fronts.
The winger has already made an impact, scoring his first goal for the Blues in their 2-1 defeat against newly promoted Sunderland last Saturday.
