Operatives of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Kano State Command, have arrested four suspected burglars specializing in housebreaking.

The command’s Public Relations Officer, Ibrahim Abdullahi, confirmed the arrests in a statement on Friday. He noted the suspects were apprehended in the Dambatta, Fagge, and Tarauni Local Government Areas and have since confessed to committing the offences.

“The arrest of these suspected criminals is part of our continued effort to forestall the nefarious activities of vandals and other criminal elements in Kano State,” Abdullahi stated.

Exhibits recovered from the suspects include nine mobile phones, one bicycle, three standing fans, three solar panels, a flat-screen television, two bundles of wires, two burglar windows, iron, three MP3 speakers, one small solar panel, one power bank, and three motor vehicle tyres.

Abdullahi explained that the cases have been thoroughly investigated and the suspects will soon be charged to court.

He added that the State Commandant, Bala Bodinga, “remains committed to discharging its core mandates of protecting critical national assets and infrastructure as well as protecting the lives and properties of the public.”

The PRO appealed to the general public to assist in the fight against crime by “sharing useful security information or reporting suspicious movements of criminal elements across the state to the NSCDC and other security agencies.”

Similarly, on September 25, PUNCH Online reported that the Kano State Command of the NSCDC had apprehended 19 other individuals suspected of vandalism across several local government areas.
