Gov. Sule: Tinubu’s “Courageous” Reforms Attracting Governors, Senators to APC

Nasarawa State Governor, Abdullahi Sule, has declared that the “courageous” reforms of President Bola Tinubu’s administration are the primary reason for the mass defection of top politicians, including governors and senators, to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Governor Sule made the assertion on Monday in Lafia while welcoming Senator Ahmed Wadada (Nasarawa West) back to the APC from the Social Democratic Party (SDP).

Sule praised President Tinubu’s leadership, stating that his reforms are successfully repositioning the country for greater heights.

“I want to specifically congratulate our President, Bola Ahmed Tinubu,” Sule said. “It is because of the good reforms he is bringing in… that today, every time the progressive governors go to a meeting, we are welcoming another governor into our party.”

He cited the recent defection of Enugu State Governor Peter Mbah as an example.

“The governors who are the leaders of their states are seeing exactly what is happening in the country, and they are running back into our party… they are running back because they align themselves with the policies of Mr. President,” Sule added.

Senator Wadada Returns, Pledges Loyalty

While welcoming Senator Wadada, Governor Sule assured him and his supporters of equal opportunities within the party.

In his speech, Senator Wadada pledged his complete loyalty to Governor Sule, whom he credits for maintaining peace and unity in Nasarawa State.

“Our supporters are here in their numbers… if the state was not in peace, or if the state is not together and connected, as a result of your (Governor Sule) style of stewardship, we would not have been able to be here,” Wadada explained.

APC Pledges Level Playing Field for 2027

The APC State Chairman, Aliyu Bello, welcomed Wadada’s team and pledged a level playing field for all politicians seeking elective positions under the party’s platform in 2027, vowing to support only “credible and popular candidates.”

As a gesture of support for the party, Senator Wadada donated 18 vehicles to party leaders across the senatorial zones and local government areas to enhance their mobility ahead of the 2027 elections.
