The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), through its Kano Operations Office, in coordination with the Kano State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA), has delivered aid packages to families impacted by recent high waters in the Rimin Gado/Dawakin Tofa/Tofa Federal Constituency of Kano State.

NEMA Kano revealed the distribution on its social media page on Tuesday. This effort, executed in partnership with the Office of the Honorable Member representing the constituency, sought to guarantee that assistance reached the most distressed communities.
* Impacted households received crucial food supplies to mitigate the immediate difficulties resulting from the catastrophe.
* The provisions included staples such as rice, maize, and beans, alongside cooking essentials like vegetable oil, salt, seasoning cubes, and tomatoes.
A representative from the House of Representatives commended the rapid response, highlighting that the intervention would provide substantial comfort to numerous families.

Recipients expressed profound appreciation to the Federal Government, NEMA, and the Honorable Member for the prompt support. They also wished for continued safety from future calamities and committed to cooperating with authorities on initiatives to reduce disaster risk, NEMA further stated.
The agency confirmed that the operation was efficiently managed with the help of NEMA and SEMA personnel, as well as security forces, to guarantee clarity, peace, and order throughout the process.
This relief deployment forms a component of the continuing endeavors by the Federal Government and emergency services to support communities devastated by flooding across Kano State. Separately, the NEMA Sokoto Operations Office had previously teamed up with the Nigeria Red Cross Society to distribute non-food items to displaced residents at Ramin Kura IDP Camp in Sokoto South Local Government Area.
