Anambra State Governor, Chukwuma Soludo, has described his second-term re-election bid as “a divine project and a mass movement” aimed at continuing the state’s development.
Governor Soludo made the statement on Tuesday while addressing a large crowd of supporters during a campaign rally in the Onitsha South Local Government Area. He was accompanied by his deputy, Dr. Onyekachukwu Ibezim.
He said the gathering portrayed the growing momentum of his campaign and ignited “a sense of collective purpose.”
“This is a campaign like no other in our history,” Soludo declared. “I am humbled and deeply thankful, and I express my heartfelt thanks to the community for their unwavering support.”
The governor outlined the progress his administration has made, particularly in Onitsha South, highlighting the establishment of a specialist general hospital in Fegge and significant improvements to public schools. He promised further advancements if given a second term.
Several supporters also spoke at the event, voicing their endorsement. The President General of Fegge, Okwudili Nwankwo, praised the governor’s “One Youth, Two Skills” programme, stating, “This has empowered many of our youth and provided them with valuable skills for a brighter future.”
Another resident, Chibuike Ugo, highlighted the administration’s social policies. “Free education, free antenatal care and delivery services have made a significant difference in our community. These programs are not just policies; they are lifelines for our families,” Ugo said.
Adding his support, Franklin Onyeke stated, “As we pray for Governor Soludo’s victory… we remain steadfast in our belief that he will continue to lead Anambra towards greatness.”
During the rally, a cheque of N20 million was donated to support the governor’s campaign.
Soludo, the candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), is contesting the governorship election against 16 other candidates on November 8, 2025.
