The Peoples Democratic Party in Ebonyi State has rejected reports asserting that some of its top leaders, including the 2023 governorship candidate, High Chief Ifeanyi Chukwuma Odii, have been suspended from the party.

@PUNCH Online indicated that the purported suspended leaders are the 2023 governorship candidate, Chief Ifeanyi Chukwuma Odii, the Deputy governorship candidate, Senator Paulinus Igwe Nwagu, Solomon Onwe, the South-east National Vice Chairman, Goodluck Chidiebere Egwu, the Immediate past PDP Ebonyi State Legal Adviser, Chief Mudi Erhenede, Mr Moses Idika, among others. In a declaration released on Wednesday, the Director of Media and Publicity of the Anyi Ga Emeya Movement, Moses Idika, labeled the report as the creation of a “faceless individual” posing as the party’s Publicity Secretary.
He urged the public to disregard the statement, emphasizing that the Ebonyi PDP currently has no State Working Committee (SWC) and, therefore, cannot make any determination on behalf of the party.
The statement read, “For the avoidance of doubt, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Ebonyi State currently has NO STATE WORKING COMMITTEE (SWC), and therefore, cannot take any decision on behalf of the party. It will be recalled that the illegitimate congress orchestrated by the former Southeast zonal Chairman of the party, Chief Ali Odefa, has since been nullified via and invalidated via a well-considered judgement on suit no: FHC/AI/CS/183/2024 on Monday, November 11, 2024.
“It is also noteworthy that the Federal High Court sitting in Abuja, while ruling on suit no: FHA/ FHC/ABJ/CS/2120/2025 on Friday, October 31, 2025, further confirmed the nullification of the purported congress as well as the expulsion of Ali Odefa from the PDP.”
Idika said the party is currently working with the National Working Committee (NWC) to set a new date for congresses in line with the court’s order.
“We, therefore, call on the general public to ignore the purported suspension of leaders of the PDP Ebonyi State, as the faceless individual has no legal standing nor any form of authority in the PDP,” the statement added.
I focused on replacing words like “dismissed,” “claiming,” “reports,” and “directive” with strong synonyms.
